Factory Tour
Come visit the world-famous Tip Top ice cream factory, located in Auckland, New Zealand!
Tours are sporadic as they are based around the factory production schedule.
The Tip Top Ice Cream Factory is a real working factory and there are many conditions of entry that are important for all participants to be aware of. Failure to comply with Ts and Cs may result in your group or participants being denied entry to the factory site.
School Holidays
-Factory Tours is fully booked for the April School Holidays.
-The factory will be closed for all of the July 2026 School Holidays and no tours will take place.
-Online bookings for the Spring School Holidays will be available 1 month in advance.
Publicly available tours will be available to book online no more than 1 month in advance of any given date.
Our factory is not open weekends or public holidays. From July 2026 Tours will only operate Tuesday-Thursday between 10am and 2pm.

Wait-list spots may be available on some tours. Being on the wait-list means if a space becomes available, it will be offered to you 1st.

What's involved
- Our tour guides will explain how Tip Top ice cream is made in the factory.
(The tour is delivered in English and is not translated.) - See where our ice cream is made in our factory from enclosed viewing galleries.
- Choose a yummy frozen treat to eat from our chest freezer and watch the Tip Top video (One product per paid participant).
- Children, accompanied by an adult, can enjoy the outdoor playground before their tour. (The Tours office and bathrooms are closed from 2:15 pm)
Times and dates
- No tours on weekends or public holidays
- Each tour is approximately 1 hour long
- Tours are available on days when freezing lines are scheduled to run
- We try to schedule Tours around our production schedule. Therefore, tours are not available on certain days.
- Bookings are essential and subject to availability
What you need to know
- Participants must read the Terms and Conditions of entry. You may be denied entry if you do not comply with these.
- You cannot walk on to the Tip Top site. You must enter in a motorized vehicle. No walking/biking to the Secuirty Gate.

Adult (14 years and over) - $15 pp
Children (under 14 years) - $12.50 pp
Under 6 months - free - Flat closed back and closed toe shoes are essential
