Tip Top vanilla ice cream judged best in NZ

Tip Top’s flagship flavour and New Zealand’s biggest-selling ice cream of all time – Tip Top Vanilla Standard – has won the Gold Award and Best in Category at the 2009 New Zealand Ice Cream Awards.

After 73 years of ice cream making, Tip Top is proud to be at the top of its game, says Trish Whitwell Marketing Manager Family Brands at Tip Top.

“This award is very exciting, as it shows that Tip Top ice cream is not only New Zealanders’ favourite-tasting vanilla ice cream, but it is also the experts’ favourite,” she says.

At the 2009 Awards, Tip Top also won accolades for Goody Goody Gum Drops (Gold and Best in Category), Cookies & Cream (Silver), Creamy Chocolate & Raspberry with a Hint of Chilli (Gold Open Creative) and Creamy Cointreau & Cardamom (Silver Open Creative).

Tip Top’s Creamy Chocolate & Raspberry with a Hint of Chilli won Best Overall Award in the Open Creative category, up against flavours like Hot Smoked Salmon ice cream, Honey & Lavender and Lemon Lime & Bitters from the boutique ice cream makers.

Trish Whitwell says the Open Creative category allows companies to show off their creative flair with innovative flavour ideas that are not yet on the market. “Tip Top prides itself on world-leading innovation and we have won this category two years in a row,” she says.
